The story of Charlotte Sparre

Charlotte Sparre began her career as a young student selling hair accessories on Saturdays at the market square. This was the beginning of her interest in buying and selling.

As her career made her a regular buyer of fabrics it was natural for her to buy fabrics on a holiday in China. With all the beautiful silk she brought home she made scarves which where quickly sold. When Charlotte ran out of fabric and the demand increased she came up with the idea of making a regular business. Arriving in China, Charlotte realised that the minimum purchase was larger than she had anticipated and she would have to buy 4.000 meters of silk, which corresponds to 8.000 scarves. Still, she believed in the idea and, purchasing the silk, went into full-scale production. It turned out to be a huge success. Charlotte’s silk scarves became popular with Danish women and are often worn by celebrities.

Through a 15 year career of design and production Charlotte Sparre has developed a vast collection of scarves. These includes cotton scarves, crochet shawls, suede shawls, woolen shawls and delicate evening shawls with subtle details.

Two years ago Charlotte Sparre expanded her assortment with a men’s collection. The “Sparre Copenhagen” collection is including warm woollen scarves in a high quality. The inspiration to the men’s collection was found in the heat and the cold along with the sand and the wind of the Middle East. These designs portray an expression of strength and courage. 

Charlotte Sparre has also been displaying her Haute Couture collection in international fashion shows, where they are worn by such models as Helena Christensen and Naomi Campbell.

In Christmas 08Charlottelaunches a scarf, which she designed with 3 children suffering from cancer. All profits from these sales goes to children’s cancer organization “Families with children that sufferers from cancer.”

The future offers many exciting projects and challenges for Charlotte, both national and international, especially because Charlotte is expanding world wide. Today Charlotte Sparre’s collection is available to customers inSweden,Norway,Belgium,France, Italy,England, USA,Canada, Australia and Japan
